What’s up Faithful!

May is in full swing which means…The Genesee Theatre Battle of the Bands presented by 103.9 the Fox is rapidly approaching May 30 and we’ve got some exciting updates as we prepare for battle!

Party Bus Update: Well fans–we’ve filled up the Party Bus and it’s ready to roll (Thank you!).  But there’s still some good news if you’d like to ride.  Although we’ve sold all of our bus pre-sale tix for the show, we still have a couple seats on the bus and there are still great seats left for the show.    If you’re planning on attending and want to ride the bus, just visit the Genesee Theatre website to purchase your tickets and then it only costs $10 a head to ride there and back worry free with plenty of beverages for the trip.  Warning–there are really only 2 or 3 seats available, tops–so don’t waste any time.  Get at us to reserve a slot.  The bus leaves from Dalton’s Irish Pub in Burbank – pick up and drop off information from our last post–click here to remind yourself.

Charity Update: This is a great event because not only does it give us a chance to play for ourselves and an opportunity to rock Summer Fest July 4th–but the winner also has the opportunity to donate $1000 to their charity of choice and we’re excited to share our plans to support the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance (IFSA)–An Illinois not-for-profit dedicated to fire safety and burn prevention through public education programs and services.  Among the numerous services they provide each year, one in particular we’re working to support is Camp “I Am Me”

This is an incredible summer camp program offered annually for children and teenagers who have experienced injuries from burns and their families.    This year marks IFSA’s 25th year providing this safe, non-judgmental environment for children that allows them to build their self-esteem as they enjoy the varied activities that make up the camp experience.    This camp provides a setting for child burn survivors to share their common experiences while being able to play and not feel self-conscious about their scars.

Through the generosity of donors, supporters, and volunteers, the IFSA offers this camping opportunity at no-cost to campers; including lodging, meals, activities, and transportation to and from camp (located at YMCA Camp Duncan in Ingleside, IL).  We invite our friends and fans to join Faith in the Fallen and this tremendous group of supporters in helping make this an incredible year of celebrating the strength and resiliency of these young people.    This video shares testimonials from campers, volunteers, and parents on the impact of this program.

How Can You Help?

  • Come to the Battle of the Bands! — On the one hand, it’s on us to Rock to the best of our ability in order to win the donation prize of $1,000.  But support from our fans will help us in the finals, so the more FITF fans present at the event, the better chance we have.   Lots of great tix still available!
  • For our fans riding the bus or any of our fans planning to attend we’d like to collect additional donations in support of IFSA’s Camp I Am Me program.  If you’re riding the bus, we’ll have a boot for donations and we’ll be collecting Donation’s at Dalton’s Irish Pub all night–before the bus departs or after.   Please consider making a donation for this great cause.
  • If you’re not able to attend the battle of the bands, but would still like to make a donation, contact us at booking@faithinthefallen.com and let us know.
  • Whether you’re an FITF fan or not–you can make a donation directly to the IFSA at any time.  It’s a registered 501 c3 Not for Profit so your donation will be tax deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law.

More news to come!  Check out IFSA and Camp I Am Me at www.ifsa.org or find them on Facebook.
